The CPP41126 Certificate IV in Home Energy Efficiency and Sustainability is a nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals seeking a career in residential energy assessment, sustainability consulting, and thermal performance assessment. The course equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to assess the energy efficiency, thermal performance, water efficiency, and sustainability of residential buildings in accordance with current Australian standards and industry requirements.
The qualification prepares students for two complementary professional pathways. Thermal Performance Assessors evaluate the energy efficiency of residential building designs using approved NatHERS software and residential building plans. They assess heating and cooling loads, determine energy ratings, and provide compliance reports to support residential building approvals and sustainable building outcomes.
Home Sustainability Assessors conduct assessments of existing homes and provide practical recommendations to improve energy efficiency, water conservation, household sustainability, comfort, and cost savings. They assist homeowners in making informed decisions to reduce environmental impact and ongoing utility expenses.
